12. Outreach on busAt Lusaka Eye Hospital, we are grateful for the support and sponsorship of various partners who help make it possible to provide the most quality care to all patients, even to the underserved:

Sightsavers, International: Lusaka Eye Hospital is currently being supported by Sightsavers Zambia, in a project “Livingstone to Lusaka Comprehensive Eye Care Project.” This is a five-year project aimed at providing eye care services to communities along the Livingstone/Lusaka route.

16. Pediatric surgeriesColin Glassco Foundation: Each year, the Glassco Foundation sponsors the majority of pediatric surgeries that occur at Lusaka Eye Hospital.  They also sponsor major cataract eye camps for patients from the Gwembe Valley.

Loma Linda University Global Health Institute (GHI) and Loma Linda University School of Medicine’s National Auxiliary:  In 2012, the National Auxiliary helped donate a Zeiss operating microscope for the operating theatre.  In 2013, the same organization obtained a portable A scan machine and a B scan ultrasound for Lusaka Eye Hospital.  In addition, GHI regularly sends air shipments of donated goods (surgical gloves, vital medications, etc.) to support the work at Lusaka Eye Hospital.

17. Postop checkStandard Chartered Bank: In 2013, this partner donated an amount of ZMW 53,000 to support 3 projects – painting of the hospital, creation of a library, and renovation of the oxygen panel for the anesthesia service.

Radian Stores + LG, Ltd: These two organizations jointly sponsored cataract surgeries for 100 needy patients from October 2013 to February 2014.

Cheshire Homes: This current partnership provides for eye care services to the identified visually impaired children in the 12 specific schools in Chongwe.
